voestalpine granted EU patent on hydrogen tech
Austrian steel and technology company voestalpine said Tuesday it has patented a technology to produce the so-called green steel using green hydrogen and biogas, Kallanish reports.
The patent was issued by the European Patent Office and it will be valid in all major European steel manufacturing countries. The technology replaces fossil fuels in the steelmaking process.
