Vale posts lukewarm quarterly copper, nickel output
Brazilian mining giant Vale has posted lukewarm quarterly copper and nickel production volumes, although realised prices for both commodities rose compared to earlier in the year.
Guidance for total 2024 copper and nickel production stands at 320,000-355,000 tonnes and 160,000-175,000 t, respectively.
Analysts at Jefferies estimate the company to be near the bottom end of the full-year forecasts for both minerals based on the output recorded so far.
