Uzbekistan increases EV sales, future growth expected
Sales of electric vehicles increased in January in Uzbekistan, according to the Center for Economic Research and Development (CERR).
The country’s new EV registrations were up by 85% on-year to 431 units, Kallanish notes. Electric cars sales accounted for 1.8% of total new car sales in January.
In 2022, Uzbekistanis purchased 5,900 new EVs, which is 35% more than a year earlier. Thus, the share of electric cars in total sales of new cars increased to 1.9%. …
