US senators urge review of 'overly stringent' H2 tax credit rules
A group of 13 US senators are pushing the Department of the Treasury to review requirements for companies to access the 45V Hydrogen Production Tax Credit.
To qualify, companies need to produce hydrogen with life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions below 4 kilograms of CO2 equivalent for each kg of hydrogen. They also need to meet wage and apprenticeship requirements, allowing them to receive as much as $3 tax credit per kg of hydrogen.
