US highway safety office zeroes in on EV batteries
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched a new safety initiative aimed at electric vehicle batteries.
The initiative includes an enhanced focus on collecting EV battery safety data and conducting “special investigations of electric vehicle crash and non-crash events related to battery safety,” the administration says.
