US formally investigates Tesla autopilot crashes
Citing 11 crashes since January 2018, the Office of Defects Investigation wing of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is formally investigating Tesla’s so-called autopilot system, Kallanish reports.
The investigation will cover the SAE Level 2 system for Tesla Models Y, X, S, and 3 from model years 2014-2021. It was launched 13 August.
