UMC's new chip factory in Singapore slightly delayed
Taiwan-listed semiconductor firm United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) is set to finalise its new factory in Singapore in late Q2 2024, slightly delaying its schedule.
The delay reported by Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times means mass production is now only expected to start in early 2025. The original plan targeted the end of 2024. The report did not address the reason for the potential overrun.
