UK to stockpile critical materials to beat Chinese threat: report
The UK is set to stockpile metals for electric vehicles to beat the Chinese threat to supplies, The Telegraph reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed government sources.
“Ministers are exploring the creation of a national stockpile of the so-called rare earth metals amid rising fears that Britain’s efforts to adopt electric cars are at risk from a Chinese stranglehold on supplies,” the paper said.
