Toyota to get subsidies to expand Japan’s production of EV batteries
Toyota is set to receive up to JPY 117.8 billion ($835 million) in subsidies from the Japanese government to expand its domestic production of EV batteries.
The backing announced by Japan’s industry minister Yasutoshi Nishimura on Friday during a press conference will support Toyota’s next-generation battery plans, which include lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and all-solid-state batteries.
