TES opens lithium-ion battery recycling plant in Singapore
E-waste recycling company TES has opened Southeast Asia’s first battery recycling facility in Singapore to recover lithium, nickel and cobalt, Kallanish learns from a company release.
The TES B plant has the capacity to recycle up to 14 tonnes or the equivalent of 280,000 lithium-ion smartphone batteries. With a recovery rate of 90% and yielding purity levels of nearly 99%, the recycled material is commercially ready for new batteries.
