Swedish firms start construction of hydrogen storage
Swedish companies LKAB, Vattenfall and SSAB have kickstarted works to build a pilot underground storage facility for hydrogen in Luleå, northern Sweden, Kallanish reports.
The rock cavern facility will have capacity to store 100 cubic metres of hydrogen, at a depth of 30 m. It’s slated to start operations sometime between next year and 2024, the companies said in a statement on Tuesday.
