SSE Thermal acquires 50% stake in UK blue hydrogen project

Energy storage asset operator SSE Thermal has acquired a 50% stake in Kellas Midstream’s blue hydrogen project in Teesside, UK. The two companies will set up a joint venture to develop the H2NorthEast production facility utilising carbon capture and storage (CCS), Kallanish learns from SSE. The JV agreement is for an initial consideration of £10m ($12.5m) to Kellas, with further consideration due should the project reach a financial investment decision…
