South Star readies Brazilian graphite mine commercial production
South Star Battery Metals Corp. says it will start commercial production at its Santa Cruz graphite mine in September, Kallanish learns.
The project, located in Southern Bahia, Brazil, is anticipated to fulfil initial purchase orders in the fourth quarter.
With a capacity of 12,000 tonnes/year in the first phase, the Canadian company claims it will be the second-largest natural flake graphite producer in the Americas.
