Solvay vows to build major rare earth magnet hub in Europe
Belgian chemicals company Solvay said Friday it will expand and upgrade its La Rochelle plant in France to produce separated rare earth oxides for permanent magnets, Kallanish reports.
The undisclosed investment will enable the company to replace imports with in-house produced advanced rare earths, targeting the growing European EV demand. It complements its expertise in rare earths separation, recycling, purification, finishing, and formulation, the company says.…
