Siemens Mobility to start H2 train tests in Bavaria
Germany’s Siemens Mobility and train operator Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) have signed a leasing contract for a hydrogen-powered train prototype, Kallanish reports.
The undisclosed deal covers a 30-month pilot operation of the Siemens train, known as Mireo Plus, on BRB’s rail network. The train should enter passenger service in January 2024, but tests are slated to start in mid-2023. The prototype will be presented to the public this spring.
