Senator calls for aggressive federal tailpipe emission ban

The chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works is pushing for a more aggressive zero-emission vehicle adoption policy by the US Environmental Protection Agency, Kallanish reports.  Delaware Democrat Senator Tom Carper says in a letter to the agency that it is within its bounds to use the Clean Air Act to require 50% of all new vehicles to be zero-emission by 2030 and 100% by 2035.
