Scania to test e-trucks at Swedish mine
Swedish manufacturer Scania and compatriot miner LKAB will test all-electric trucks in underground mining operations in northern Sweden, Kallanish reports.
An electric Scania Heavy Tipper, with weight including load of 49 tonnes, will transport residual products. The second truck is equipped with a crane, purpose-fit to transport drill steel to underground drill rigs. The vehicles should start operations later this year.
