SAIC plans MG factory in Europe: report
Chinese automaker SAIC intends to build a factory for its popular MG brand in Europe, where it currently sells around 200,000 cars per year.
William Wang, MG Motor’s head in European and UK markets, told Auto News Europe the cost of localisation is high, but the benefits are obvious. In addition to being able to meet demand of local customers quicker, local manufacturing would enable an exemption of the 10% import duty between the UK and Europe.
