Russia’s Transmashholding to build hydrogen trains for Sakhalin
Russia’s Transmashholding (TMH) - one of the largest producers of locomotives and rail equipment in the country - Russian Railways, Rosatom and the Sakhalin regional government have decided to create a railway passenger service in Sakhalin on hydrogen fuel cells, TMH says.
The enterprise will supply seven hydrogen trains to Sakhalin by 2024 with a total cost of over RUB 3 billion ($40 million), Kallanish notes.
