RARE EARTHS: ERMA devises action plan to support $1.97 billion investment push
The European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA) has devised an action plan to ensure the region boosts its rare earth elements (REE) capabilities and reduces its supply reliance on China.
The group co-funded by the European Union believes around 20% of Europe’s rare earth magnet demand could be sourced from the EU. Potential capacity production in the region could increase from 500 tonnes/year today to 7,000 t/y by 2030, Kallanish reports.
