RARE EARTH: Energy Fuels to start producing REE carbonate in Utah
Colorado-based Energy Fuels has received its first shipments of monazite sands at its facilities in Utah and commercial recovery of rare earths is expected to begin in the coming weeks, Kallanish reports.
The company will begin producing an intermediate rare earth element product called a mixed REE carbonate. The mixed REE carbonate will then advance to REE separation. It also expects to recover uranium from the monazite.
