RARE EARTH: Energy Fuels to produce REE carbonate in 1Q
Colorado-based Energy Fuels says it intends to turn monazite sands into rare earth element (REE) carbonate concentrate and to begin commercial production in first quarter 2021, Kallanish reports.
The company, a uranium and vanadium producer, has signed a three-year supply agreement with the Chemours Co to acquire a minimum of 2,500 tonnes/year of natural monazite sands from Georgia. It describes the sands as one of the highest-grade REE minerals in the world. The …
