Port of Rotterdam sees first H2 imports in 2025
The port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands expects demand for hydrogen to reach several million of tonnes per year in the future. When its plant project in the Maasvlakte becomes operational, the port will generate 2m tonnes a year of green hydrogen.
Imports will fill in the gaps, it says.
"To be able to meet the demand of 20m t of hydrogen, we have to rely heavily on imports…from countries where solar or wind energy can be generated in large quantities…
