Northvolt to collaborate in new air commuting technology
Swedish battery start-up Northvolt said Wednesday it will collaborate in a project aimed at establishing Europe’s first commercial electric routes for aircraft, Kallanish reports.
The so-called Project ELIS, pioneered by Skellefteå airport, seeks to eventually offer Northvolt’s employees and visitors an electric commute option by air. The airport is located 25 kilometres away from Northvolt Ett gigafactory – a 30-minute drive.
