NICKEL: Nornickel to trim nickel, copper output in 2021
Norilsk Nickel will reduce nickel and copper production in 2021 due to market conditions amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the company says in a note seen by Kallanish.
The enterprise will cut nickel output by 2% year-on-year to 220,000-230,000 tonnes. Copper production next year, excluding Bystrinsky GOK, will fall by 7% to 390.000-410.000t. The decrease is also explained by the scheduled maintenance of furnaces at the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant.
