NICKEL, COBALT: Zhejiang Huayou approves Indonesian nickel smelting project
The board of directors of listed Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt on 23 May approved a laterite nickel ore hydrometallurgy smelting project, which will be built in the Weda Bay Industrial Park in Indonesia.
The project will produce 120,000 tonnes/year of nickel metal and 15,000 t/y of cobalt metal, Kallanish notes.
