NICKEL: Boliden increases Harjavalta nickel smelter capacity
Swedish company Boliden is investing €40 million ($47.3m) into an expansion of its Boliden Harjavalta nickel facility, Kallanish learns from a company release.
The investment will bring the facility’s feed capacity from 310,000 to 370,000 tonnes per year. Concurrently, it will drop the facility carbon dioxide intensity per tonne by 15-20%.
