Lotte Chemical to invest KRW 10 trillion in batteries, hydrogen
South Korean conglomerate Lotte Group's Lotte Chemical recently revealed its 2030 plan, which involves investing about KRW 10 trillion ($7.9 billion) in the battery materials and hydrogen energy businesses.
According to Nikkei Asia, during a growth strategy speech on 19 May, Lotte Chemical implied this investment plan is expected to diversify risks resulting from intensified competition in its heavily concentrated petrochemical business.
