Livent reports fire at Bessemer City lithium facility
US lithium chemical company Livent announced a fire broke out at its Bessemer City 800-acre manufacturing facility in North Carolina early Monday morning, Kallanish reports.
The incident was localised to one building where solid lithium metal ingots are produced, the company said in a brief statement reporting no injuries. A plant emergency response team and firefighters were working to contain the fire at the time of the release.
