LITHIUM: California seeks to turn Imperial Valley into Lithium Valley
California wants to turn its Imperial Valley into Lithium Valley, Kallanish reports.
That desert valley is southeast California near the border with Mexico and Arizona is home to the shrinking Salton Sea, a salty inland body of water where geothermal brine is extracted to produce power. The Salton Sea geothermal field is widely considered to be the largest lithium reserve in North America.
