Lion Electric to build Quebec battery plant
Montreal’s Lion Electric truck and bus producer plans to build a battery manufacturing centre in Quebec, Kallanish learns from a company statement.
Lithium-ion battery production will begin there in 2023. A site has not yet been released, but Lion expects the CAD 185 million ($149.17m) centre will produce about 5 gigawatts annually - or enough to electrify 14,000 medium-to-heavy vehicles.
