Latrobe Magnesium inks binding MOU with SLN
Australian miner Latrobe Magnesium has signed a binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with French nickel mining firm Société Le Nickel (SLN) for the supply of 450,000 tonnes per year of ferro-nickel slag for 20 years for its 100,000 t/y magnesium plant, Kallanish notes.
Latrobe Magnesium will need in the order 600,000 t/y of ferro nickel to produce 100,000 t/y of magnesium.
