KAZ Minerals reports higher copper production
UK-registered, Kazakhstan-focused mining company KAZ Minerals increased copper production in the first quarter of 2023 by 12.5% on-year to 95,100 tonnes, Kallanish notes.
The increase was due to Aktogay performing well and Bozshakol achieving throughput in excess of design capacity. Aktogay’s copper production rose 22.3% on-year to 62,000 t.
