KAZ Minerals’ copper production, sales increase on Chinese demand
UK-based, Kazakhstan-focused mining company KAZ Minerals saw its copper production increase by 11% on-year to 200,000 tonnes in the first half of 2023, Kallanish notes.
The growth was mainly due to the strong performance of the Aktogay sulphide plants, which raised ore throughput and copper recoveries, the enterprise claims. Aktogay produced 126,200 t of copper, up 14% compared with the 104,200 t in H1 2022.
