KAZ Minerals continues to increases copper production
UK-based, Kazakhstan-focused mining company KAZ Minerals increased copper production by 20% on-year to 180,000 tonnes in the first half of 2022, Kallanish notes.
The increase was due to Aktogay operating above design capacity and an exceptional ramp-up at the mine, with the new concentrator achieving design capacity throughput for extended periods.
Aktogay produced 104,000 t of copper, up 49% compared with the 70,000 t in H1 2021.
