INSG sees nickel production, usage to increase in 2023
The International Nickel Study Group (INSG) has forecast world nickel usage to increase to 3.13 million tonnes in 2023, from 2.78mt in 2021 and 2.96mt in 2022, Kallanish notes.
The Lisbon-based group also forecasts world primary nickel production to reach 3.37mt in 2023, from 2.61mt in 2021 and 3.06mt in 2022.
The estimates do not include any adjustment factor for possible production disruptions.
