Indonesia tries to shed Chinese investment: analysts
Indonesia is seeking to reduce Chinese investment in nickel assets to comply with the US IRA, according to analysts at BofA Securities.
Companies that have more than 25% ownership or control by a “Foreign Entity of Concern” (FOEC) – including board seats, voting rights or equity – are not eligible for IRA tax credits under US policies. China, which has invested heavily in Indonesian nickel production, is deemed a FOEC, Kallanish notes.
