India to invest $7 billion in bus electrification
India’s federal government has approved an INR 576.13 billion ($6.94 billion) plan to electrify its public transport by adding more electric buses into the system, Kallanish learns.
The new so-called PM-eBus Sewa scheme will add 10,000 electric buses in 169 Indian cities by 2037. The government also plans to improve the related charging facilities and infrastructures.
