Howden to support HYBRIT hydrogen venture
Fluid handling firm Howden has been picked to develop and deliver a hydrogen storage compression solution for the HYBRIT steel joint venture in Svartöberget, Sweden.
Billed as the “world’s first fossil-free steel plant,” HYBRIT is a joint venture between SSAB, LKAB, and Vattenfall, Kallanish notes.
Howden will supply a high-pressure diaphragm compression system with 100 cubic metres of underground hydrogen storage.
