Gradual fleet replacement key to US decarbonsiation: Berkeley
The US’ transformation to a net-zero carbon economy can be achieved by 2050 with a relatively painless cost of $1 per person, per day, according to the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
The transformation will take an all-of-the-above strategy towards decarbonisation, leaning heavily on the gradual change-out of the US vehicle fleet from gasoline to renewable electricity, Kallanish understands.
