Germany’s revised hydrogen strategy bets heavily on imports
The German federal cabinet updated on Wednesday the country’s national hydrogen strategy, noting that it will have to import around 50-70% of hydrogen to meet 2030 demands.
The strategy, first adopted in 2020, lays down the guidelines for the production, transport, and use of hydrogen and its derivatives. With aims to be climate-neutral by 2045, the country is planning to boost the ramp-up of the hydrogen market.
