German steelmaker eyes over 140,000 t/y H2 supply
Germany’s thyssenkrupp Steel Europe plans to launch its first hydrogen supply tender this quarter, targeting roughly 140,000 tonnes/year of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen.
In a pre-tender notice seen by Kallanish, the steelmaker says deliveries to its site in Duisburg, in western Germany, should start in 2028. It is seeking 104,000 t or 4.1 terawatt-hours that year, before ramping up intake to 143,000 t/y during 2029-2035. Volumes will then further rise …
