Gas companies urge UK to double its 2030 hydrogen production target
Energy Networks Association (ENA) the voice of Britain’s gas network companies, called on the government Thursday to double its 2030 hydrogen production target, Kallanish reports.
The trade-body believes the UK should be targeting 10 gigawatts of hydrogen production instead of 5 GW by 2030 to ensure security of supply. A domestic hydrogen industry should help blend homes and businesses contend with volatilities in the international gas markets, it says.
