Feds could spur 10 new chip factories: Raimondo
If the federal government chips in $52 billion in seed money, the result could be as many as 10 new semiconductor factories in the US, according to remarks made by US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
Speaking 24 May at an event outside Micron Technology in Virginia, Secretary Raimondo said $52 billion in federal funds could “unlock” at least $150 billion in private spending, as reported by Reuters.
