ERG plans to double DRC copper, cobalt production
Luxembourg-based miner Eurasian Resources Group Sarl plans to invest $1.8 billion over the next four years to double its copper and cobalt production in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kallanish learns.
Ceo Benedikt Sobotka told Bloomberg in an interview in South Africa that the expansion is driven by a strong demand from EVs. If that projected increase materialises, there will need a lot more cobalt and copper, he says.
