Enel Green Power uses H2 to decarbonise Sicilian steel mill
Acciaierie di Sicilia, part of long products maker Alfa Acciai, is partnering with Enel Green Power (EGP) to decarbonise its steelmaking process through green hydrogen. EGP will build an electrolysis facility in the industrial zone of Catania where the mill is located and will supply the steelworks using its renewable energy farms in the area. The aim is to boost the mill’s green steel production and strongly reduce energy consumption and emissions.
