Democrats introduce $73 billion zero-emission bus plan
Two top Senate Democrats are proposing a $73 billion push for creating a zero-emission public transit system, Kallanish reports.
Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer of New York and Senate banking, housing, and urban affairs chairman Sherrod Brown of Ohio have dubbed the plan Clean Transit for America. The plan calls for the replacement of 70,000 mass transit buses and 85,000 cutaway vehicles and vans with zero-emission replacements.
