COPPER: Peru begins 2021 reducing production volumes
Peruvian copper output fell both on-month and year-on-year in January, Kallanish notes. According to the Peruvian mines and energy ministry (Minem) latest report, the deceleration was mainly due to the lower volume obtained by the Compañía Minera Antamina, Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde and Southern Peru Copper Corporation. During January, output from the three miners accounted for 59.5% of the country's total production.
