COPPER: KAZ Minerals to increase copper output with new facility
UK-based, Kazakhstan-focused mining company KAZ Minerals has launched the second processing facility at its Aktogay open pit mine located in the East Kazakhstan region.
About 190,000 tonnes of copper, including 20,000 t of cathode copper, will be produced by 2022, Kallanish notes. The facility will increase the processing of ore from 25 to 50 million tonnes/year. Total investments reached $3.2 billion.
