COPPER: China’s imports fall further in June
China’s copper imports fell for the third month in June to 428,438 tonnes, a decrease of 3.9% month-on-month and 34.7% year-on-year, Kallanish reports.
The decline in the volumes of both unprocessed copper and copper products are attributed to high prices and manufacturing slowdown.
Meanwhile, total imports in the first half reached 2.79 million t, which is down 1.6% y-o-y, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs.
